AI Payroll agent · Monthly pay run
A payroll agent that hands you a finished run to read.
Starters, leavers, hours, absence and rate changes are already on the record, so the agent builds the run itself. You get the figures, the reason behind every movement since last month, and one approval that releases payslips and the HMRC submission.
Supports your payroll lead, bookkeeper or bureau. Included in every plan.

Monthly pay run
Ask it
- Run payroll for October

- Is anyone under National Minimum Wage?
- What will the pension contributions be?
What is an AI payroll agent?
An AI payroll agent is software that prepares a payroll run for a person to approve. It collects hours, absence, starters, leavers and pay changes, calculates pay and deductions, explains what changed since last month and produces the payslips and HMRC submission once someone signs the run off.
The job description
What the payroll agent does.
Builds the run
Collects hours, overtime, absence, starters, leavers and pay changes from the record and prepares gross to net for every employee.
Explains what changed
Lists every difference from last month with its reason, so the review is ten minutes of reading rather than a line by line check.
Statutory pay
Works out sick, maternity, paternity and shared parental pay from the dates and evidence on file, and shows how it got there.
Minimum wage watch
Checks pay against hours and age band before the run, and warns while there is still time to put it right.
Pensions
Assesses auto-enrolment each period and prepares the contribution figures for your provider.
Payslips and HMRC
Produces payslips, the RTI submission, P45s and the year end forms once a named person approves.
Support, not replacement
It works for your payroll lead. They keep the decision.
You approve
- The run itself, every period
- Release of payslips and the HMRC submission
- Any correction to a previous period
It will not
- Pay anyone or file anything without approval
- Choose how to treat a bonus, overpayment or notice pay for you
- Carry on past a missing or contradictory record
How hiring works
Working for you this week.
- 1
Pick the agent
Choose the job your team needs help with. Hire one, or all eight: every agent is in every plan, so the price does not change.
- 2
Give it a brief
Bring your records in or connect them, set what the agent can see, and name the person who approves its work.
- 3
Approve its first week
It starts on what is due now. You read what it prepared, question it, and sign off. Nothing leaves without you.
Works alongside
Better with the rest of the team.
Every agent reads the same employee record, so what one prepares the others already know.
Accounting agent
Payroll bookkeeping
Turns each approved run into the journal, the liabilities and the cost report your accountant expects.
HR agent
People operations
Keeps every employee record, contract, probation and policy up to date, and chases what is missing.
Rota agent
Shifts, leave and cover
Builds the rota, checks leave against minimum cover and finds the cheapest way to fill a gap.

What is an AI payroll agent?+
An AI payroll agent is software that prepares a payroll run for a person to approve. It collects hours, absence, starters, leavers and pay changes, calculates pay and deductions, explains what changed since last month and produces the payslips and HMRC submission once someone signs the run off.
Does the payroll agent submit to HMRC by itself?+
No. It prepares the submission and holds it. A named person approves the run, and that approval is what releases the payslips and the filing.
We use a payroll bureau. Is this instead of them?+
It can be, or it can sit alongside. Some employers keep their bureau or accountant as the approver and let the agent do the collecting and checking they used to email over.
What if it gets a figure wrong?+
Every figure links to the record it came from, so a wrong input is visible before approval. If a record is missing, the run is marked blocked with a plain description of what is needed.
